You can play the notes pretty well. You know where your fingers are supposed to go. You can even get through Bach's Arioso start to finish without stopping much...
So why doesn't it sing yet?
Your bow arm tenses up right when the sound needs to soar.
You're wondering..."How the heck?..."
It's a shifting problem.
It's a bow mapping problem.
It's a "nobody ever taught me how to practice for consistency" problem.
And it's fixable in a way that's pretty fun to discover.
Let's work it out together...
We are going to work on all of those things in the Arioso Cello Bootcamp...

In this camp Cello Guru Marcie Brown will explore the difficulties that arise with the playing of three lovely Bach pieces: Arioso, Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring and Ave Maria.
We will work through bowings, shifting and vibrato coloring to make long beautiful musical phrasings that sing...
This class is for anyone interested in working the basics of Bach on the cello. It's best suited for intermediate level players that have some knowledge of the first four positions on the cello.

Play along on your cello...you won't be heard! But you will be able to absorb the lessons like a sponge from the comfort of your own practice space.
In case you can't make it live, you can play along with the replays on your own time, so you won't miss anything!
We cater to adult amateurs, so our fingerings and bowings are student friendly and designed to make it easier for the learner.
Same time on Thursday and Friday. For more fun and more learning.
Qualify for a free Friday private lesson by attending four classes Monday- Thursday.
When you hang out with other like minded cello students who have similar goals, you always learn more than when you are just taking private lessons. The community is gold!
And you can play some in 1st through 4th positions on your cello. It doesn't need to be perfect! You just need to have some knowledge of those positions.
