The classical coaching is for cellists who already have at least three two octave scales in your repertoire. We will hone your skills by working through pieces that are appropriate for your level from the Suzuki repertoire books. Listening to the pieces will help you to learn much faster. We will supplement your musical education with scales and arpeggios and maybe throw some Celtic or Irish pieces in to the mix, if you are game for that. Or not. It's up to you. Let's get to it, classical cellists. I can take you to the next level.

If you have always wanted to learn to play jazz standards, this is the course for you! During our six private sessions, we will work through melodies, baselines, walking bass, scales and arpeggios that move along with the tune and, the ultimate, how to solo over chord progressions.
I absolutely love playing jazz standards on my cello. Love it. I grew up in a classical family, playing classical music .My dad is a conductor. When I learned to improvise on the cello though, is when I really started to feel freedom in my music. Gaining the tools for jazz and improvisation is a never-ending study that we can all aspire to. I can share those tools with you. I would love to do that. It's my thing. It's what I've done my entire professional career. It's what I'm great at. Come on! You can do this too. What are you waiting for? Are you ready?
Prerequisite for the Jazz Cello Series: The cellist should have at least five major and minor three octave scales and arpeggios at their fingertips so we can nail this music.
